This is a 30 year old female from the Phoenix, Arizona area who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice with concerns regarding her labia minora (inner vaginal lips). Specifically, this patient had redundant tissue of the inner labia which became irritated when she wore tight jeans. She was also self-conscious regarding the appearance of her vaginal area.
I recommended a labia reduction with a wedge excision of the excess tissue to improve the appearance of her labia while minimizing any scarring or distortion of the anatomy. This technique also avoids scar along the length of the outer labial edge which can occur with other techniques.
The patient did very well after surgery, and healed without any difficulties. She was extremely pleased with the results, and noticed a significant improvement in both her physical symptoms, and the appearance of her labia.
