Breast Lift (Mastopexy) Case 342

This patient is a 34-year-old female from Canada, who presented to my Phoenix, Arizona area medical practice with interest in "mommy makeover" surgery.  Specifically, she felt that her breasts were disproportionately small, and she wished to have a smoother, more contoured waistline.

I felt that this patient would benefit from breast augmentation with a circumareolar (around the areola) breast lift to improve the breast shape.  I also discussed the option of using Strattice (an acellular dermal matrix) to act as an internal bra to bridge the gap from her chest muscle to the crease under her breast due to her weak tissues. (Please see the link on my website for more information on Strattice).  For the abdomen, I recommended a full abdominoplasty (tummy-tuck) with muscle tightening to improve her torso.

In surgery, I placed Mentor smooth, round, 450cc high profile silicone gel implants and performed all of the above-mentioned maneuvers including the placement of Strattice.  I also tightened her breasts around the areolas to improve the areola positions. 

The patient recovered very well after surgery, and was extremely happy with her improved, natural breast and body appearance.
