Breast Lift (Mastopexy) Case 68

This is a patient in her early 30's from Arizona who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical office regarding improvement of her breast shape and size.  She had lost almost all of her breast volume after pregnancy, and was extremely self-conscious about the appearance of her breasts.  She did not want to be very large; she simply wanted proportionately sized breasts with a normal, natural shape.

I felt that this patient would be an good candidate for breast augmentation using silicone implants and a circumareolar (around the areola) breast lift to tighten all of her loose breast skin while minimizing any scars.

I performed a breast augmentation with circumareolar tightening using silicone implants placed through the areola and under the pectoralis (chest) muscle.  The implants were 300cc Mentor smooth round moderate profile-plus cohesive silicone gel implants.  The patient recovered well from surgery and was extremely pleased with her new breast appearance.  It was obvious, even at the first postoperative apointment, that her self-confidence had improved tremendously with her new body image.

After a few years, although still very happy with her improvement, this patient wished to increase her breast size as she felt more secure with her body.  At this point, due to her skin thinness, I felt that further tightening of the skin was warranted to give her the best overall appearance.  I exchanged her implants and placed Mentor 450cc smooth, round, high profile cohesive gel implants.  I also performed a vertical (lollipop scar) breast lift.  After surgery this patient recovered well and was thrilled with her new breast appearance.  The photos seen are her original preoperative photos (prior to any surgery) and her final postoperative photos (after the lollipop lift).
