This patient is a 24 year old female from the greater Phoenix, Arizona area who presented to my Scottsdale area medical office with interest in breast reduction surgery. This patient felt that her breasts were disproportionately large for her body and had issues with back and neck pain, bra strap grooving, and trouble finding clothes that fit properly.
I felt this patient would be an excellent candidate for breast reduction surgery, which would not only improve the patient's appearance, but would significantly improve her symptoms.
I performed a breast reduction surgery using a Wise pattern (anchor scar) skin removal due to her significant excess breast skin. I was able to dramatically lift the breasts and reduce the areola sizes (leaving them fully connected to the breasts.) Approximately 500 grams (1.1 pounds) of tissue was removed from each side.
After surgery the patient recovered very well and was extremely happy with the new, more youthful shape and size of her breasts. She also noted an enormous improvement in her back, shoulder and neck pain.
