Breast Reduction Case 171

This patient is a 20 year old female who flew in from New Mexico to my Scottsdale, Arizona based medical practice with interest in breast reduction surgery.  This patient was suffering from the usual complex of symptoms including back, neck, and shoulder pain, bra strap grooving, and difficulty with exercise due to her heavy breasts.  She wished to have a reduction, but also wanted to maintain a round, natural breast appearance.

For this patient, I recommended a vertical (lollipop scar) breast reduction which would allow me to improve her symptoms and reduce her breast size while maintaining a beautiful shape and avoiding a scar under the breasts.  Please note that the nipples / areolas are shifted into a higher position, I do NOT detach them from the breasts to perform any type of breast lift or breast reduction surgery.

During surgery I removed 165 grams on the right side and 215 grams on the left due to a preoperative asymmetry.  I also performed a significant tightening of the breasts and raised them into a higher position.

After the surgery, the patient noticed an immediate resolution of her back and neck pain.  She felt much more comfortable, and was extremely happy with the smaller and perkier appearance of her breasts.
