The patient is a 54-year-old female who presented to my office with complaints of back pain, neck pain and shoulder issues due to droopy, heavy breasts. The patient also had asymmetry with the left breast being larger and lower than the right side. I felt that a bilateral breast reduction using Wise pattern would give the patient the best overall results.
During surgery I removed 172 grams from the right breast and 235 grams from the left. Although these were smaller volumes, the combination of a modest reduction plus a lift has a significant beneficial effect on the way breasts pull on the neck and shoulders. After surgery the patient was very happy with her improved size, perkiness and symmetry, and her back and neck issues were almost completely resolved.
