KYBELLA is known as an injectable fat dissolver. It's an FDA-approved nonsurgical option for patients who want to eliminate extra fat beneath the chin—commonly known as a "double chin." This area of fat can be especially resistant to changes in your diet and exercise habits. At Dr. Robert Cohen's office, we're happy to offer double chin injections with KYBELLA for our Scottsdale-area patients to help them improve their profiles efficiently and without surgery.

The Basics

KYBELLA is composed of a chemical called deoxycholic acid, which is naturally produced in the digestive system. It's injected into areas of troublesome fat, dissolving and destroying the fat cells while leaving the healthy tissue unharmed. Once KYBELLA is administered in the predetermined area of fat and the cells are metabolized, a gradual process of sculpting and tightening continues. This is known as retraction. This process can take between 6 and 12 weeks to complete, leaving behind a tighter, more toned profile. For many patients, KYBELLA is an appropriate alternative to surgical liposuction.

The KYBELLA Difference

In addition to treatment for double chin, some men and women request injections of KYBELLA to minimize the appearance of their jowls, which are the lower sections of their cheeks. People occasionally feel self-conscious when they think that their jowls are sagging or "fat." They may also describe their faces as "falling." More severe cases of laxity in the lower face may be better served by a facelift.

The main characteristic that sets KYBELLA apart from other procedures is that it's quick and comfortable, with minimal recovery time and lasting results. In order to achieve optimal results, we recommend at least 2 treatments. Your precise treatment plan is determined during your consultation with our aesthetic nurse specialists, MK Maloney, R.N., CANS, and Meagan Reguera, R.N., BSN.
