Many patients at our Scottsdale practice consider CoolSculpting as an alternative to liposuction and surgery. CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling to safely target and reduce diet-and exercise-resistant fat. This is an ideal treatment for a patient in good, overall shape with minimal fat areas remaining. Our practice offers not one but TWO CoolSculpting machines to optimize patient treatment time.
Is CoolSculpting right for you?
CoolSculpting is for active men and women who have a consistent diet and exercise regimen looking to get rid of stubborn fat. This treatment is also great for mothers who want to get rid of leftover baby weight built up in the bra area, flanks (muffin top) and lower stomach (“pooch”). This is not a solution for abdominal separation caused by pregnancy or for overweight patients wishing to debulk.
Treatable areas include:
- Flanks (“love handles”)
- Thighs (inner and outer)
- Bra fat
- Back fat
- Banana roll
- Upper arms
- Submental area (“double chin”)
Frequently Asked Questions
How Does CoolSculpting Work?
Is CoolSculpting safe?
Yes! The CoolSculpting treatment is one of the first nonsurgical, fat reduction treatments approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Millions of patients worldwide have been treated with only minimal side effects or none at all (such as soreness and swelling).
Are the results permanent?
The fat cells targeted by CoolSculpting are permanently removed. Once fat cells are frozen, they are simply reabsorbed and then flushed out of the body as waste. This is a gradual process and the visual results vary per patient. Committing to a healthy lifestyle is vital for maintaining the results long term. If a patient were to gain a small amount of weight after treatment, it may appear in other areas of the body that have not been treated.
CoolSculpting minimizes the number of fat cells in the treatment area, but doesn’t eliminate all of them. Liposuction is an option for patients who want more dramatic results.
Will I lose weight?
The CoolSculpting treatment will NOT help you lose weight. However, if you want to lose unwanted fat and look slimmer in clothes, then CoolSculpting may be right for you.
How much does the CoolSculpting treatment cost?
The cost of CoolSculpting treatments depends on areas of concern, number of areas treated and ultimate body goals. We work closely together with patients to create a customized treatment plan that’s tailored to the patient’s body, goals and budget. Financing is available through CareCredit for qualified patients.
Are there any side effects?
During the treatment, you may experience sensations of: pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense coolness, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb.
Following the treatment, typical side effects include temporary: redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching or skin sensitivity.
A sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after submental (under-the-chin) treatment is common.
All of these side effects are temporary and will resolve within days or weeks.
When will I see results?
Changes can appear as quickly as 3 weeks after a CoolSculpting treatment. Since your body will continue to flush out fat cells for up to 4 to 6 months post treatment, we recommend patients wait this time out for results to fully appear. In some cases, it is necessary to receive multiple CoolSculpting treatments to achieve desired results. Our before and after photo gallery shows what results look like several weeks after CoolSculpting treatments.
